Hideo-sensei's thoughts: On teaching

"Pay attention to your teacher and learn all you can." - Proverbs 23:12

In everyday life, we always learn. We learn Math, Science, and Literature in school. We learn how to assemble a simple HG 1/144 GunPla by reading the assembly manual. But in life, we always taught...EVERYTHING. Everything that we use in everyday life. Those are called "experience".  WE always remember that experience is always a best teacher. Yes it is. We always taught how to live the life that we wanted to be. We also taught how to protect something precious, to admit our own mistakes in a humble way, and so on, and so forth.

And because of that, we are enable to share, or rather teach others, the lessons that we had in life.

So my dear students, pay attention to your teachers. And always share your lessons to others as well.

Hideo-sensei's thought: On Compassion, Love, and the dilemma of "Loving yourself"

"A soul cannot live without love."
These are the words from St. Catherine of Sienna that I always ponder upon. I wanted to write this thought during my Holy Week break but due to time constraints, I couldn't.

One day, I posted about seeking self-help, and I have a stand about that. But for some reason, some of the comments prove that helping yourself is always an essential way. Still, I will fight my own stand  about this.

Like I said, self-help is not always essential in everyday life. Life needs a bit of compassion and love, but the problem is, we are too selfish to do so. Why is that? In this world, we always think of ourselves more than each other. The way we see ourselves in the mirror. The grades that our teachers gives us, or for those who are working, the evaluation our bosses gives us. The opinions that others will say to you. Yes, some of us will say that don't give a damn about it, and it is good. But, what  I am trying to say is that we ALWAYS think of ourselves. We always don't care if some one will cry or some one is depressed. We just let them to their ruin until they realized that they will help themselves; the last option that they will face in the end. I don't believe in that. We, people, have the ability to share our love, the love that God gave us, to others, especially those who are in dire need of it. We called it "Compassion". We always have that. It is just that we couldn't practice it for real.

Let me tell you something. We always have the dilemma that always circling in our minds; the concept of "loving ourselves or yourself". Yes, it is okay to regain your self-confidence. Yes, it is also okay to have self-respect. And yes, it is okay to boost your self-confidence. Those are good for you. But, if it is to much, it could lead to vanity and pride! So, sacrifice them for a while for the love of others.

"Love others MORE THAN yourself."
Yes, you must love OTHERS more than YOURSELF. Nothing more, nothing less. That is the root of compassion...LOVE, itself. It makes Jesus sacrifice himself for us. Yes, we admit that we are not Jesus, but we could be like Jesus. How? COMPASSION!

Love, as I always stated, is a commandment, and not a feeling. Ever since the beginning of time, we are commanded to love one other. And through love, compassion will come. Therefore, it will stop our dilemmas of loving ourselves.

We always fear of not loving back, but for me, I will set aside my fears in order to love others more. To be compassionate by giving a helping hand to a friend. I am not willing to be there and see him struggling to help himself/herself. I will be there to help him/her. Nothing more...Nothing Less...

A Letter from Shinji Ikari to the Philippine Cosplay Community

Introduction
From Shinji Ikari, the former Third Child, now the Supreme commander of NERV, who served with faith, humilty, and optimism.
To the Philippine Cosplay Community that is continue to grow with their hardwork. Let your praises be heard. May God be with you all.
About the growth of the Cosplay Community
I observed the growth of your cosplay. By all of your hardwork, you achieved the widening of  its influence. Happiness and sharing is evident as cosplayers help one another to build a better community. But in the past few years, after transisting from underground to mainstream, cosplaying is now in the midst of confusion and chaos. Some cosplayers today are seeking attention and fame by putting in their heads that the art that was created for fun and brotherhood, or sisterhood, has turned into a competition where crab-mentality came to play, turning each and every cosplayer into pride-driven beasts. What do you expect after you win a "useless" verbal war? Bragging Rights? Shame on You! You let your own pride corrupt into your heart and mind. You hate one cosplayer that his or her own hardwork instead of his or her own pride to attain his or her respectful place. That is jealousy! The ones that we want to hate are those who want to corrupt your cosplay community and alienating its aspects and values esp. those who think of fame alone and attaining it by killing each other's spirits with their own words. Those are the ones that needs to be knocked down in their pedestals! If you want to praise him or her, do it in a simple way. If you want to correct him or her for his or her faults, don't do it harshly like you spank a child with a thick bamboo stick. Instead, do it and say it nicely. Be neutral and humble. Always accept corrections at the same time accept your faults and flaws. Remember, this nis a community. no one is alone and no one will be alone once you helped each other hand-in-hand.
About Fame and Responsibility
As for those who became famous in our community, please do not take it for granted, esp. its own responsibilities. Take it with humility. You deserved the opportunity. But, you must remember that don't put your fame on your heart and your head. You must never forget that fame is a temporary prize in this earth God has even more valuable treasure for you. Don't always focus on what the world has given to you, but keep an eye on some on those things that God will gave you. Be in content. Be happy on those things that you have and don't be envious on those things that you don't have. Fame and Glory is just temporary cheap thrills. Instead, offer it to God and be humble. Don't use it for your own good. Be an inspiration to others and share your knowledge and your life to them, whether you are famous or not, as long as you have humility in your heart.
About Happiness and Believing in one's self
And, always remember, have fun. Be happy. Don't always waste your life on nothing. Have an optimistic outlook in your life. You only lived once. As a cosplayer, you can just smile whether you are stressed or exhausted. Don't wear a mask. Just be yourself. Be happy for what you are, but don't attach yourself too much. That is selfishness. Just remember that this cosplay community has full of unknown people. Make yourself even  more friendly. Open your heart and mind to communicate with those people. And always wear a smile. Even make-up can't mask a woman's heart. Remove it and a woman will be true to herself, especially when she is a cosplayer.
To the Reader of this Letter
To those who read this letter, remember that hardwork can be rewarded as long as you have faith and humility. Have Fun and Be Happy. God gave you cosplaying because you cultivated it with the talents that He gave you. Don't be ashamed that you are a cosplayer. You don't have the power to change the community, but you have the ability to motivate those to continue to cultivate the community instead of himself, or herself. I pray that your cosplay community will be blessed by the Lord Almighty, who gave you the talent to make the imagination of many come alive by means of cosplaying.
Final Words
To those who look only for fame and wanted to throw cosplaying into a brink of confusion, change your ways and help the cosplay community to grow. Share your talents and inspire those that will start cosplaying.
And to those who are humble enough to grow your cosplay community through hardwork and faith, you are now blessed by God. Now, share your blessings to others.
One more thing, don't always expect to earn respect to others. Instead, seek understanding more. Impose your respect to others, but don't seek authority to them. That way, you are always be respected but in a simple and humble way.
May God Bless you and your cosplay community. I will send my prayers to you. Let us not "run away" and face the future that lies ahead of us.

Marxweilder: The History of the Baroness, Part 1(Page 2 of 2)

(Continuation from page 1)
As they went on their journey back to Hayate's Maid cafe, Takeo was really worried about Bea and her own past.
"I'm very sorry if I didn't see your sadness within. For being not so sensitive about your life..." Takeo apologizes to his "Senpai-sama", but Bea halted it saying, "I know what you're about to say. Don't Sympathize me about that. And, don't say sorry about that. I should be the one to say that."
After that, a few second silence came. Then, "Can I ask you something, Bea-nee?"
"About what?"
"About your sister. Do you think that she is right? That you set your eyes first on your revenge?"
Bea think for a second...
"I don't know... It's Just... I want my family back. Maybe if I would win this, even just my sister would come back to me, my family will be complete. I will never be alone." As she said these words, she clenched her fist as she resist her tears to fall down.
"You are not alone now, senpai-sama," Takeo said with a smile, "We are your friends, so don't think about it."
"And, stop crying. I hate that." Bea suddenly Chuckles back.
"You know. Even in my case, I'm also felt helpless for my mom. She sacrificed everything for me. And, I'm perservering for my mom so that I could give back to her. We are a simple, yet Happy Family, and, I want it back. I promise beside my mother's hospital bed that I will bring her back. That's my drive for joining here in this competition." After he said this, Takeo is smiling. He told Bea, "Senpai-sama, you will promise that when we finish this, our families will come back. Yours and Mine."
Bea nodded as a sign of approval.
"Yosh-Ah!!!" Bohck suddenly shouted.
As they are on the road, Bea suddenly collapsed.
"Bea-san!"Gan was shocked after he heard a thumping sound on the ground.
They approached her body and try to wake her up.They didn't know what happened to Bea. They only know that she is exhausted because of the battle last time.
Or, maybe worst...
"Hihihihihi..." A devilish snicker was heard thru the cemented pave way.
"What the...?" Bohck suddenly jolt out to find who is laughing until he saw an old man dressed in a black cape with a Bloody Red X mark on it hood.
"That's from Asura!" Gan exclaimed.
The Asura Group was headed by Churchill. The group is one of the "Most Wanted Groups" posted in the Marxweilder website because of killing, not "Exorcising", Demon-possesed humans in the course of "Demon Hunt".
They were also feared because of their dark aura, at the same time, their own capes, which has a Bloody Red X-Mark either in their hoods, in their backs, or in their forearm. Bea was a former Member of Asura after she was recruited by Churchill. But, after she saw a masacre, by which several people, who wanted to be "Exorcised", where mercilessly killed, she choose to run away with Gan.
The old man holds a large marionette with a still pike pierces on the chest part. He has also a large doll on his back, and his cape also has marionettes, rag dolls, and rubbish toy dolls inside, knowing that he is a voodoo-ist. On that doll's head, a bloody inscription has been seen by Takeo. It says, "BEA"
"Did you curse her?!" Takeo said it with rage.
He then pulled his katana off his back, ready for battle.
"Hihi... So you must be Takeo-san. You are really willing to protect that girl. Sir Wrath instructed to kill her because she betrayed us." The old man said with a devilish smile on his face. That smile has a dark, sinister aura. It is as same as his dark, jagged teeth.
"Why you?! Don't you ever kill her, You Stupid Old Man!!" Takeo bursted to the old man as he clenched his Gurren-Nai with rage.
"Oh my... Did your mother teach you on how to respect the elderly? I hope so, but it seems that your values are...POOR!" The old man seems playing old possum to Takeo.
"I guess you are right..." Takeo talked back, "But...I choose... to Respect Mama more than YOU!"
Takeo jolted to the old man, and slashed him a couple of times.
"Argh. This old Guy is pissing me off!!!" Gan also became angry as he pulled out his pistol and start shooting on the voodoo-ist. Both of them were missed.
Meanwhile, Bohck noticed something strange to Bea. She started to mumble something.
"Bea-san?"
"Wake Up..."
"No...Not Them...NO!!!!!!!" Bea Screamed
"BEA, HANG IN THERE!!" Takeo and Gan shouted as they attecked the voodoo-ist.
They didn't know that the Old Man has started to chan avoodoo spell on her. A Nightmare Spell...
At Bea's dream, she was alone, in a dark room, all covered in blood. On the corner, a demon started to rend and tear a corpse. It was her mother's body.
Bea was in the state of fear, pulling her Crimson Sun, and point it on the demon. The fiend was staring at her.
"You...Stop It... Stop Terrorizing Me!!" Bea screams as she pull the trigger.
Then, A Complete Silence came afterwards.
Then...
The Demon was killed.
Eventually, Light came into the room and shone into her blood-spattered face.
She realized that her dream was over...
Or, maybe not...
She woke up from her sleep...
In her make-shift Make-up Room inside her van...
Behind Hayate's Newly Built Maid Cafe...
"I'm...Back???" Bea asked herself.

Marxweilder: The History of the Baroness, Part 1(Page 1 of 2)

After the Marx Battle, Gan was very happy that Bea is safe.
"After I see that attack, Takeo, I realized that you still have concerns for her." Gan said.
"I missed the attack on purpose. I want to know more of her than just being my Cosplay Idol." Takeo replied as he put his Gurren-Nai on his back.
Bohck notice that the battlefield. The trees were cut down. Bullet Shells were scattered on the ground. "It was a great battle, Takeo. But you lost it. 2 more and you are Out." He scolded Takeo.
"No, don't blame it on him," Bea exclaimed heads down, "IT was all my fault." The 3 notice tears flowing down to the ground. "If it weren't for my revenge for my parents. If it weren't for my sister... I... I'm not become like this!"
Suddenly, Takeo approches her and wipes her face. "Don't blame yourself. I didn't want to kill you because I want to know you more. If you please, I want to know the True Bea Cheng. The Bea Cheng that I've never known before. I want to know more of you than just a Cosplay Princess." He said with a smile on his face.
After she saw Takeo's smile, she then nodded, and told her story:
"My life has been revolving around Cosplay conventions, Photoshoots, Endorsements, and more. As if I'm living under the lime light, signing autographs and everything. But, despite of that, they didn't know my other side of  life. My family is a simple, yet Rich one. My parents were in our family business, so they didn't have the time to take care of us sisters. My sister, Hayley, is still on school, getting prepared for her graduation. We always have time to hang-out, going to the mall, playing Arcade Games, everything. We treat ourselves not just sisters, but  best friends. It was great, though. Until the unexpected came. Our parents were killed by stray demons during the Great Rebellion. After that, their bodies were lost. I was then crying at their portraits when I found about that. Hayley, on the other hand, decided to leave the house that time to mourn. As i shed my tears and weep for their demise, my heart is full revenge, hatred, and wrath. And, that's I met Gan and handled me the Crimson Sun. By that time, my life has changed. I joined the Marxweilder Battles for one thing: to find the killers. As i battle the devils, I didn't realize that Hayley was gone. She has gone rebelling to me.She left a letter to me that day. She said in the letter that I only focus on my revenge for our parents. That, I HAVE CHANGED since then. I was so frustrated, I killed all the demons who are also possessing humans. Then, I met William Churchill. He said that he will help me if I can eliminate every Marxweilder in the  competition. I was shocked, yet I must do it, for the sake of my parents and for my sister."
"Did you just say, 'William Churchill'?!" Bohck exclaimed.
"Yes..." Bea replied.
"Gardemet. Just as I expected." Bohck added.
"What about him?" Bea asked in the midst of Confusion.
"He is one of the Deadly 7," Gan Answered, "The sons and Daughters of Ashtaroth."
"You are talking to Wrath all this time, Bea! He must be poisoned your mind by vivid thoughts of Revenge!" Bohck suddenly burst in anger.
Bea was then shocked. "But why you didn't tell me about this?!"
"BECAUSE YOU ALWAYS TRUST SOMEONE WITHOUT EVER THINKING OF THE DAMN CONSEQUENCES!!!" Bohck suddenly Shouted at her. "YOU KILLED LOTS OF PEOPLE OUT THERE BECAUSE OF YOUR STUPID VENDETTA!!! IT IS ALL YOUR OWN FAULT WHY YOU ARE LIKE THAT TODAY!!!"
"But... I Didn't mean to... I'm sorry." Bea apologizes to Bohck as she is starting to bust into tears again.
"There is no time for blaming, Bohck-san," Takeo shouted "The only thing we know is that I lost to senpai-sama. I understand that she has to fought for that."
"I guess Takeo is right, Bohck." Gan agrees as he pats his fellow guardian's shoulder, "All we have to do right now is to find Churchill for some answers, including the whereabouts of his sister. I have a strange feeling He has something in order to split the sisters apart."
"Okay, then..." Both Takeo and Bea Replied. Bea wiped her tears while Takeo helped her stand up. Bea suddenly felt heavy but, she ignore it.
